Host The Perfect Raclette Night

“Growing up in Switzerland, Raclette was my winter’s highlight—cheese melting over potatoes after a day of skiing. It’s more than a dish; it’s the taste of snowy peaks, cold nights made warm, family, friends and siblings sharing the same meal.”

What pairs best with this recipe?

A dry white wine - ex: Petite Arvine, Chasselas (Fendant from Valais). An Alvarinho or a Chardonnay will also do the job.

What were some of your 2024 obsessions?

The new Tyler The Creator, the come back of Funk music with artists like Holy Brune and Dabeull, the UEFA cup during the summer was solid, 2024 was the year of podcasts.

To host the perfect raclette night, you'll need a few essentials:

Step 1

Invest in a raclette grill. These can easily be found on Amazon for around $120—your ticket to an authentic experience.

Step 2

The star of the show is the cheese. Not just any cheese, though—it must be Raclette cheese. If you’re in New York, head to Murray’s Cheese for top-notch quality that elevates the feast. If you don't have Murrays in your vicinity or a proper cheese store in town, Whole Foods carries a decent alternative, but trust me, it’s no match for Murray’s.

Step 3

Boil small Yukon Gold potatoes to create the perfect base for the melted cheese.

Step 4

Enhance your spread with flavorful sides: tangy cornichons, crispy bacon sizzling on the raclette grill, and briny pickled pearl onions.
